Day 6 Ketch me if you kan

Here we are sitting in a cyber cafe sipping a latte, looking at the rear end of the ship, and the majestice mountains across the bay. YES...Ketchikan is beautiful. Weather is delightful...cool but sunny.

Took a 1.5 hour sea plane ride this morning...OMG! Hopefully when we return to the ship the pix will be worthy of the sights for posting. The normal flight includes a landing on the lake however, a colder, snowier, and later winter than usual has kept the lakes from thawing. Still too much ice. Too cold even for the bears to be down yet. The pilot thinks it will be a couple of days yet. We did however do a PLANNED water landing in the Misty Fjords Monument area. Just enough to stretch our legs. This was indeed the most primitive 'airport' we have ever seen...a floating dock.

Spent some time walking around town...a very small town...with lots of jewelry stores which were not offering free beer, hence we purchased nothing.

Walked Creek Street to view the shops, former red light district and purchased sweatshirts. Big spenders are we.

Little time in port as we have to leave with the tide at 2:30.
